As we welcome your touchdown and check-in in Houston, we kick off our weekend with a voluntary evening together over games at some local gems.
And we have lift-off! Our Friday night outing in eight years is a-go. We honor our heritage and the many pathways life took up before coming back together. Plan for a flavorful evening starting at 6 pm near Downtown. Further details on location will be available in coming months but anticipate a casual occasion!
We have been working for months to curate a set of tours that truly reflect the cultural heritage of many black Houstonians and contributions to the current landscape. As we move through the day, there will be ample time to explore many of Houston's attractions together before reconvening for our traditional banquet.
We're switching things up this year and have adopted the theme of "Spann City Rodeo". Come dressed in your best Western wear - boots, blue jeans and big rimmed cowboy hats.
After a full schedule on Saturday, we start the day with a voluntary early bird walk around Buffalo Bayou. Following this, we plan to worship together this morning. We close with a mid-day meal at Adeeba's home.
